Does Le Creuset cast iron require seasoning?

Le Creuset cast iron is enameled, and therefore does not require seasoning like traditional raw cast iron.

How do I clean cast iron?

Although it may be washed in the dishwasher, hand washing is recommended to preserve the enamel's shine. Hand washing will also preserve the patina of pieces with the matte black interior enamel. The patina enhances cooking results and should not be scrubbed off.

Are the knobs oven-safe?

Yes, both cast iron and the knobs are oven-safe up to 500°F.

Beautiful but small

I have enjoyed cooking with the Dutch Oven so far. I bought the 3 piece set with dutch oven, saucepan and skillet. I didn't realize how small the skillet and saucepan were though, if I could do it all over I would have bought the larger pieces individually. We are a family of 4 and they are just too small for most applications I would use them for. The Dutch oven is the real star of the show though. It worked very well to make risotto. I would definitely recommend lecreuset to my friends however I would not recommend this set unless you are single or only cook very small meals.

Great set- purchased deep teal

I received this set for about a week, I love the set, it is perfect for 2-4 people. The sauce pan is a great size when making sauces, fruit compote, or to make soup for one person. The 9" skillet is great for 2 people. I have used the skillet as a stir fry, searing, I also used it to make brownies and pancakes, it is absolutely a great skillet. The best part of the skillet is heat distribution it retains the heat. The 5.5qt dutch oven, it's a great size, good for 4-6 people. I have used it to make stew, popcorn, bread, and soup. Overall, I'm very satisfied with the product, super easy to clean, I have used it every single day ever since I have received it two weeks ago. I cook breakfast, lunch, and dinner and of course snacks and desserts.

Beautiful Signature Set

I was looking for quality bake/cookware that I can use on the stove top AND in the oven; and won't have to replace every 3-4 years. Le Creuset came up to be one of, if not THE, best options on the market. After using this signature set I can see why. The quality and craftsmanship is impressive, both pots and the skillet evenly distribute heat and are a breeze to clean up afterward. I LOVE that they have so many color options too! I definitely plan on purchasing more products to wean out my old cookware. This set is great to "get started" with.

Wish They Could Get My Return Right

I have owned Le Crueset cookware and wanted to gift the 5-piece set to my daughter who recently moved into her own home. I ordered the "Shallot" set. The set was delivered on September 12th and my daughter quickly realized it was the wrong color. Every piece was "Flame." I contacted customer service to submit a return and replace request. I received the shipping label and instructions. My daughter returned the set. On October 16th, my daughter finally received the replacement set. Upon her dismay, the 5-piece set was again in the wrong color--Flame. I have once again contacted customer service to submit a return request. If they can't get it right, this time, I'm done. It's truly unfortunate because I love the quality of cookware, but refuse to pay for the wrong color.

Still no pans

This brand is known for its quality. That is why I purchased a set for my daughter as a Christmas gift. The wrong color was sent so that was extremely disappointing. Since there isn't a phone number for customer service an email was sent. Response was quick, a return label to return the incorrect items was sent and assurance was given that the correct set would be sent promptly. After that,,.. nothing. Wrong set was returned, no shipping or tracking info sent for the CORRECT replacement set. Customer service contacted again, we were told there was a production delay. And my daughter's set should be shipped within the following week. That was 10 days ago… it is Jan 28…. still no pans. Anything is only as good as its weakest link… customer service thus deems this product terrible!

Don’t do it.

Shipping was inaccurate and customer service was I competent. The pans are already scratched even though I’ve babies them to the full extent. I expected so much more from the brand… I saved my money to finally purchase them and I fell like I’ve been scammed. Literally the bargain brand Dutch oven I have looks better than the one I bought from Le Crueset. Highly disappointed with not only the quality but the customer service. Really left a nasty taste in my mouth.

No, I do not recommend this product.

I wouldn't waste my money again

These products are not great. I heavily researched while looking to purchase a new pots/pans set before choosing this one. They are not non-stick. I cannot even make eggs in them without sticking. The bigger pot burns incredibly easily, I made popcorn on medium heat and it created marks in the bottom that I cannot get off. The popcorn was not burned so I don't know how that even happened. I just told my husband the other day I wouldn't waste my money again.

Defective

I bought this set from William Sonoma. Tried to write a review on their website, but my review time period expired. So it took over a year to actually get my order. I just noticed today, on the Dutch oven I've used maybe 5 times. There is already a chip along the edge. Each pot I've ordered came with similar small chips along the edge, which I didn't think much of at first, but now it's starting to oxidize on those little areas. It's so disappointing considering how expensive these are. I had an issue with one of the pot handles also and although they tout a lifetime warranty, they make you jump through hoops before they honor it. And you will pay for the return shipping which is expensive because of how heavy these are. I've had these literally less than a year and I regret buying them. I've followed all care and use instructions. Guess the quality just isn't what it apparently used to be.
