HAVE CARRIED ONE IN A HOLSTER ON MY BELT FROM 1985 UNTIL I RETIRED IN 2000. i BOUGHT THIS ONE FOR A FRIEND. MY ORIGINAL ONE IS STILL GOING AND IS IS STILL A HOUSEHOLD MUST HAVE!
The handle is both unergonomic and slippery. The ergonomics of this make my hand cramp when I have to use it for more than a minute. The lack of grip makes it very hard to apply a lot of torque. Actually the reason I am on Amazon in the first place is to buy a replacement. I don't know anything about manufacturing but if I had to guess, I would guess the handle is the cheapest part. The bits and shaft are well worth the money, but the handle can put me in a bad mood when I just see it. Every time I have to use it, I marvel at the horrible design,
I buy these all the time from hardware stores hd etc they last as long as the first time I use then for a chisel or they get wet and stop coming apart ect. I noticed this one black handle driver lasting so much longer then I'm used too , so I looked for the name , and it said Great Neck , so now this is what we buy

Don't let the relatively low price fool you: these are fantastic screwdrivers that will withstand a great deal of use - even abuse. Mine has occupied my tool apron since around 2002; the only issue I had was after 12 years or so of heavy use, the end of the small flat tipped screwdriver bit broke. Personally, I find the rounded square-profile grip comfortable and easy to grip for tightening or loosening all but extremely stubborn screws.
