The unit lets you know it’s ready to cook in two ways: Indicator Light: Once plugged in, the red light on top will turn on to signal that the unit is heating. When it reaches the proper cooking temperature, the light will turn off—this means it’s ready for you to add your batter or dough. The waffles came out great. They were so cute with all the designs we tried and they were a nice mini size. The only thing I would say is be aware that it says mini. The person that gave me this gift didn't know they were mini, but it's actually something I'd been wanting so I didn't mind.

We loved our Christmas version so much that we ordered the whole maker and plate set in the Spring version too! Now we can make double the waffles with fun shapes! The removable plates are my favorite feature. I wondered why they didn’t exist right away when all the different versions came out and I’m so happy they finally do.
