Why We Like The Alpine Bivy
When we're planning on sleeping in tough conditions but aren't interested in carrying a tent, we make sure to stick the Rab Alpine Bivy in the pack first. It weighs only a pound and packs down to the size of a water bottle, so we never have to leave essential gear out of our pack to bring it along, and it zips up all the way to offer full protection from the alpine elements. The eVent waterproof and breathable membrane and 3-layer DVStorm fabric keep water out and prevent condensation from building up inside, while the tough nylon floor stands up to rough ground when sleeping in less-than-perfect conditions.

Fantastic bit of kit
I’ve used this bivi for a few years now & recently used it last winter in the Cairngorms. It give great protection of your sleeping bag. Now condensation inside, even at -10°, it still stood the test. I’ve even used the bivi to sleep out in the open at Red Tarn with just a lightweight sleepingbag

Great bivi
Fantastic bivi. Super light weight With a small pack size. Large enough for plenty of room and large sleeping bags. Perfect at keeping the elements out of your down bag and protecting expensive sleeping bags. Tough enough for rocky ground. Overall great bit of kit .

I've used my Alpine bivy for 5 years in all conditions and it's been the most amazing shelter! In snow, in driving rain and even humid conditions I've never had a drop of water or condensation on the inside. It's my mountain 'blankie' and I would cry if I lost it!

Excellent bivy

After using this bivy a handful of times, I’m convinced. It keeps me dry, adds a layer of wind protection and warmth. I’ve used it with just a blanket inside in warmer temps, and it works well. I have not had a moisture problem so far. After reading a comment on here stating that this has pertex material, I have to state that this bivy does indeed have e-vent material, as it is printed directly on the side of it. Great Bivy!
