If it’s something that needs to be taken apart, especially with small screws. Or even something like another IKEA item with various screws nd fasteners. The separate compartments allow me to keep organised things like screws, fasteners, covers etc.
The smooth white material makes it easy to see even the smallest part and keeps them safe from being lost.
Also for similar reasons my 6 year old finds this ideal for assembling any Lego kits. He can empty each bag into a compartment so he doesn’t loose any part, plus he can easily find the piece he needs as he’s building whatever item. Same with any other toy where there are numerous components

Should have read the reviews....Anonymous reviewerOn Ikea's website this product is suggested as an accessory to the Alex drawer unit so I added 2 to my cart and bought it without reading the reviews. It DOES NOT fit the Alex drawer unit. Why on earth Ikea would put this as a compatible product is beyond me. I live hours away from the nearest Ikea so can't return it easily. Save yourself the money and don't make the mistake I did. 1

It FITS in the shallow Alex drawers!!KarenBy that I mean the shorter, wider Alex drawers, not the narrow ones. This makes organizing the shallow Alex drawers a dream. I only ordered 2 as a test, now I want one for every drawer! There's a section big enough for pens, markers and scissors.5

Filthy LindaI ordered four of these organizers. They were delivered by truck along with 3 Alex units. The organizers were taped together and not wrapped in any way. They are filthy dirty. I’m highly disappointed.1
