Really bad IPs glow
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am not sure why this monitor has such good reviews, mine has a horrible IPS Glow and it's noticeable pretty much all the time. And at certain angles, it's worse. Maybe mine is defective I don't know, but the strength of the IPS glow makes using it not a fun experience. Minus the IPS glow it's a pretty smooth playing experience but that is over shined by the negative. Just in general the darker colors look hazy.

Ready to have your mind blown?
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Im a huge panel nerd. IT experience and A/V engineering aside, lenovo still and always will make some of the best quality products ive ever seen and probably will remain that way for years to come. The the 1440 resolution is incredible. Honestly it looks better than 4k. Refresh rate never fails to be capped as usual (rtx 3080, ryzen 3800xt, 850psu and 4000 mhz 32 gb ram) the colors and viewing angles on this ips panel are incredible. Even the black levels are some of the best ive ever seen. This monitor wasnt worth waiting 6 months of reading and studying and worrying over before i purchased it. The build quality is out of this world. Ease of use is 5/5 hands down. Its by far the easieast monitor to mount and/or attach to its base. Movement on the base is amazing. Goes real tall and low, spins easy but obviously its a little tough to make sure it doesnt unintentionally turn on its own or when bumped. The packing in the box for protection was insane. A little hard to get out of the box but what fun is an easy box? Simply said, read the title. Not too much and not to little. Nuff said! BUY IT IF YOU ARE IN THE MARKET FOR A 2K HIGH REFRESH MONITOR.

Too expensive, buggy software, minor annoyances
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I ended up paying almost $600 after taxes and right now the monitor is $150 off so it's $399.99. Maybe at that price it is worth it but I just have minor annoyances that kind of stack up to make me want to return this monitor soon. Pros: - Stand is pretty good, probably the best out of lots of the 1440p/144Hz+ options. - Can do 1440p at 165Hz with 10 bit color (HDR enabled in Windows) - quite nice and might be the only monitor that can have all of it enabled at once. 165Hz is stupid in my opinion as 144, or even 120Hz, is enough but this is nice to have. - Gaming experience seems to be pretty good. I primarily play CS:GO nowadays and I have a good time with that - have played RDR2 on it as well and it looks good. - Doesn't use a joystick for controlling the monitor settings but you can have quite a few shortcut keys when you have multiple monitor buttons so that is nice. Cons: - The software for this monitor is not good. Apparently it used to be worse but all you can really change is the brightness and contrast of the non-preset profiles. If you switch it to like the FPS profile then you cannot (WHY???). The software causes a bit of lag when it's in the foreground so I don't leave it running as well. - The brightness and contrast gets reset every single time the computer goes to sleep or if you restart (and I think even if you turn the monitor off and back on). It's really annoying, especially since it defaults to 85 contrast and like 65 brightness, so having this occur in the evenings is blinding. I do have light sensitive eyes so this is a major complaint for me but some probably won't care too much. - Monitor is not great for movies, the contrast is pretty disappointing. I have used an LG OLED and even got a chance to play games on it so I'm spoiled since then but this monitor is not great for that side of things. Unforunately it seems like monitor tech needs to improve quite a bit more to get a perfect monitor that's great for games along with movies (unless you wanna spend $1.3k or more on a new LG OLED that utilizes gsync). - The monitor settings are generally limited as well and lots of options get greyed out depending on which preset is selected - for example, the FPS profile greys out the overdrive setting and cranks the constrat/brightness high. - The extreme overdrive setting is terrible - there's only three options total with one of them being "off" so you really can only use normal. Personally I am fairly disappointed with the monitor at the standard $550 cost before tax. I'll be returning it and I'm pretty tempted to try the new G7 Odyssey monitor from Samsung since it uses QLED and appears to give a good gameplay experience. Unforunately it has that abysmal aggressive curve and is pricey so I am not sold on it at the moment.

Absolutely fantastic.
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After having gotten bummed out about the past few "gaming" monitors I had purchased online and having to return them, I decided to take a look at our local Best Buy for options and hopefully be able to see one setup in person. Luckily this one was setup at the store to look at and was setup properly. At the time of purchase this was $429 and that was admittedly a little over my budget but I couldn't pass it up when I saw how much better it looked that what I had used before. Unlike my previous 144hz monitors, this has almost none existent trailing and ghosting issues. I say almost though because the "Extreme" overdrive setting is useless due to horrific pixel overshoot. The normal setting seems to be perfectly fine though. There is some ever so slight trailing in very specific grey to grey or grey to black pixel transitions if you look very closely but this is perfectly acceptable. I was also very surprised how little I felt I needed to adjust any of the factory image settings. I toned the brightness down a little and that was about it. For anyway who may care, there is no setting for sharpness but I do not feel as though it needs adjusted. Although it doesn't seem to be noted on the product page, or on the product box for that matter (lenova is very tame with the product packaging), the panel does let you turn HDR on in windows 10 with 10 bit color enabled no less. I haven't fully tested the HDR content on this so I cant speak to how good it looks in games yet but I was able to load up some youtube videos that were encoded in 60fps with HDR and they did look very stunning. Gaming on this monitor is a real treat compared to the 144hz AOC 1080p monitor I used to use. Not only did I realize how much my old monitor ghosted and had trailing issues, I also noticed how much color and detail I was simply not seeing at all in a lot of my games, especially in dark areas. I've actually felt myself lining up shots with more accuracy now cause I feel like I can see things much clearer. Only other thing that I can't really weigh in on is the stand as I am using a vesa mount to my desk. I did grab the stand out of the box at some point and its very heavy and solid. I have no doubts that there would be very little or any issues with wobbling. I'll add more later if I feel like I forgot anything.

Best in class monitor.
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Probably one of the best 1440p 165hz monitors you can actually buy.It comes with displayport 1.4 and hdmi 2.0.This monitor can actually do 165hz,10bit color,1440p all at the same time.Other 1440p monitors can only do 165hz only on 8bit color and 10bit at 144hz or 120hz. Make sure to leave overdrive on normal, extreme is useless because of so much ghosting. For pc gaming this is great,I've even read that you can hook this up to ps4 and it can receive a 4k signal and hdr. I actually like the buttons on this monitor it beats the joystick every time on my last monitor.I only got a very tiny amount of ips glow on the bottom left corner which you don't even notice. It's anti-glare coating is very light which is good, which you don't notice unlike my old dell which had a heavy anti-glare coating. Build quality is great also heavy metal stand,no creaks that i can hear.Buttons which I actually like. if you can wait till it goes onsale its a killer deal if i can find it at the sale price . i would buy a second one to have a dual monitor setup and both monitors look uniform at full price in the near future personally For $399.99 this is the best you can get for 27in,1440p,165hz,10bit color.

Great value 27'' QHD Gaming Monitor
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've had this monitor for about a month. Overall, I am happy with my purchase and recommend it if you're looking for a 27'' QHD gaming monitor. Good value. Pros: - Better build quality than similar LG models. Especially the sturdy stand. - Nice Colors, IPS panel doesn't disappoint. Contrast is decent - BL bleeding minimal for an IPS; doesn't bother me personally, but subject to each person - Smooth motion in gaming. Cons: - A smaller bezel would be nice, but the overall design for this monitor series is a good start. - Button menu kind of bland and hard to navigate. Software UI pretty buggy. Hope Lenovo keeps working on the latter. - Black screen issues with GTX 10xx series GPUs, went away for me with a software fix found online/limiting refresh rate to 144 Hz.

The only CON that I have is that gysnc does induce a black screen on games that have a huge variation in fps.But so far people have said this is only with 10 series nvidia graphics cards.I have a 1080ti with the latests drivers and i get black screens with gysnc enabled. 20 series nvidia cards seem to be ok. For $399.99 this is the best you can get for 27in,1440p,165hz,10bit color.
